You may have a packed schedule ahead and find that there is no time for relaxation or a vacation but trust me, you will not regret every single bit of it. Of course, it depends on the kind of job you are working but I'm sure there's a way to work around the annual leave application and stuff like that. Just a week ago, I pushed back all my work (I teach music when I am not working on The Fitness Webzine) and went for a trip to New Zealand. Over the internet, sources are citing that people who take more vacations get promoted as they are happier and become more creative and productive when they return to their job after a trip. Well, I'll leave that up to you to decide and I'll see if I do perform better in my job at school next week!
Let me start with a picture. A picture says a thousand words eh? Well I'm certainly not going to have to ramble with a thousand words describing this picture then.
1) Alright, Oysters! These were the BEST oysters that I have ever tried. We tried the Te Matuku Oysters and the Mahurangi Harbour Oysters. Fresh, juicy and simply divine.
2) Veal with Poached Eggs and Mashed Potatoes. Forgot the exact name of the dishes though. I am normally a light eater and usually finish 1/2 to 3/4 of my meal but I finished every single bit of this, and I'm telling you the portion ain't small! Good source of protein for our long walks too!
3) Fresh Market Fish with Potatoes (rough idea of the dish name). It was fresh and good too but I'd rather have the Veal with Poached Eggs anytime. Perhaps I'm just a fan of eggs and beef. I can live on eggs for 3 meals a day and not get bored of it, legit! But different style of cooking of course.
Thereafter, we went to Barry's Tourist Railway which took us up (it's a slow ride so no worries, safe for kids and thoe afraid of heights) to see this magnificent view.
Next place that I would say is a MUST VISIT would be Rangitoto Island. Based on the pictures I saw online, I wasn't really expecting much and when I reached there, I was blown away. The place is more beautiful than I have ever imagined and pictures don't justify that at all. Want to see the shots that I took? It's wayyyy better than what you can find in those stupid reviews. I'm sorry but it's true haha.
Our last tour was at the Waitomo Glowworms Caves but unfortunately pictures are not allowed inside as light from your camera or phones will cause the glowworms to NOT come out and you don't get to see any glowing worms. Basically looks like blue stars and you had to take a small boat to sail down the narrow stream. People like us travel 3 hours from Auckland just to stay there for 45 minutes and 3 hours back because it is a MUST SEE. If the tide is too high, you don't get to go in either so we were lucky that throughout our entire trip, we had great weather and great tides allowing us to complete all of our activities. Last but not least, let's end it off with a bang.
